Mario Hernandez is a formerly incarcerated, fully reformed individual, who now leads a reentry-focused nonprofit organization in Boise, Idaho, called Learning How 2 Live. Prior to prison, Mario spent 30 years in broadcasting and media production. While incarcerated, he used his professional expertise to create broadcast and production studios for 3 Boise facilities. Mario has a proven track record of successful media programs, one of which won the 2022 Postsecondary Exemplary Program Award from the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education. Now, Mario teaches Black Magic Design Davinci Resolve certification programs inside Idaho's prisons, equipping individuals with purposeful skills. Mario is dedicated to reducing the recidivism rate by providing individuals with resources, skills, and support upon their release from incarceration. 

Wayne Birt has been the Program Director at KRBX, or "Radio Boise," Boise's first community radio station, since 2012. He has been involved in the project since 2004, and was a student DJ at KBSU while working on his geophysics degree. Besides being a longtime radio guy, Wayne is a student of podcasting, has taught podcasting classes, is a published writer and former university teacher, and actually gets out of the studio every now and then where he goes on exceedingly long and minimalist hiking trips, which he calls his plan for sustaining his love for new ideas, like co-hosting a show focusing on incarcerated individuals and those around them, with persuasive folks like Mario Hernandez.
